Seems like the press conference by our opponents went off without too much of a blip in the media, as far as I’m seeing on the web. Did you see anything on the news? Please comment.
I don’t know where they get off saying we don’t have the right to blacklist and boycott. I doubt I’ll be seeing many of them dining at Hamburger Mary’s anytime soon. Likewise, I don’t want to be in the midst of creepy, perma-smile wackos who pity me as a sinner as they gloat about their win. And then use the profits from my patronage to further injure me.

If you ask me, I don’t want to sleep in a hotel that has a Book of Mormon in the nightstand. They’ve also banned smoking at all their locations. But I digress. In the talk of boycotts, Hoehn Motors in San Diego and Cinemark Theaters are two fairly important potential targets. The L.A. Now blog at the Los Angeles Times mentions them in covering the state of the boycott.
Hoehn Motors is a massive chain of car dealerships in the San Diego area. Robert Hoehn made a $25,000 donation to Prop 8.

My friend Sam posted video of the LDS owner of El Coyote, a restaurant with heavy gay and liberal minded patronage, responding to her donation to the Yes on 8 campaign, trying to avert a boycott. When Sam asks her, “would you be willing to make a personal donation to repeal the amendment?” The truth then comes out as to where she firmly stands.

There have been a lot of news stories about the Sacramento theater director, who is Mormon, and his $1,000 donation to pass prop 8. The New York Times reports on his resignation and further discusses the controversy. The director said in a statement:
“I understand that my choice of supporting Proposition 8 has been the cause of many hurt feelings, maybe even betrayal,” Mr. Eckern said. “It was not my intent. I honestly had no idea that this would be the reaction.”
